Murray Livingston

MYSTIC WATERS

22 September - 21 November 2021

Murray Livingston

Livingston has frequented the Western Cape, South Africa over ten years.  He has spent innumerable amounts of time in the mountains, estuaries and coastlines of this beautiful province.  Only twice has he decided to document the area photographically.

Livingston’s photographs are presented here in succession to represent a ‘sedimentation of time’, as he has perceived this terrain.  These images are evidence of the historical-geographical movements of land and form.  No single image represents the landscape in its entirety.  Together they convey aspects of this uncontainable scenery.  Documentary in style, he describes these as 'fragments', that convey a sense of what one might feel, in situ.
