OPPORTUNITY FOR AN ARTS MANAGER

The Jam Factory has well earned its reputation – a free spirited venue to enjoy amazing fresh food and drink in a relaxed setting surrounded by creative events, artwork and great company.

Arts at The Jam Factory prides itself on providing a creative hub in the heart of Oxford’s West End. We showcase visual art and events through temporary exhibitions. We are committed to cultivating and fostering creative talent through events such as our weekly life drawing classes, performances and exhibition openings.

The Jam Factory is pleased to announce that we are recruiting an Arts Manager.

Duties will include...

  • Sourcing, organizing, curating hanging and promoting exhibitions

  • Promoting and publicising arts events, exhibitions and

    performances

  • Building relationships with the Arts Community

  • Building on our public events and performances

  • Managing and overseeing gallery interns, and external courses

  • Overseeing upkeep of wall space, invigilation area and art store

  • Being the first point of call for all Arts-related activities

  • Working closely with the Management and Directors to ensure a

    symbiotic relationship with the Restaurant & Bar

  • Controlling and reporting of all financial information relating to the Arts

  • Managing our internship programme

  • ... amongst others

       Qualifications

  • Interest in exhibition design and curation 

  • Strong organisational skills

  • Excellent communication skills 

  • Professional demeanour

  • Reliable and punctual

    Responsibilities

  • Work with gallery staff to plan and design exhibits

  • Paint and prepare walls before installation

  • Handle art pieces

  • Package artworks properly for delivery

  • Assist in administrative tasks related to exhibitions

    Students pursuing related studies in art as well as recent graduates are encouraged to apply.*

THE OXFORD OPEN 
 

We're currently accepting applications for our annual open call The Oxford Open, a group show in collaboration with Oxfordshire Artweeks. 

 

Be in the chance of winning a solo show at The Jam Factory, chosen by an exciting panel of judges!

 

The Jam Factory encourages submissions of all mediums and themes, within the maximum size limit of A2. *Performance art and video works can be submitted to be included in the artist evening event on April 26th only - if selected there will be no fee - please contact art@thejamfactoryoxford.com for details. 

 

Send a completed application form and an image of your work titled with your full name to art@thejamfactoryoxford.com using 'Oxford Open' as the email heading.

 

The deadline for applications is 23rd March 2020 at 12pm.

Deadline for payment 7th April 2020.
